About Us

Our Mission

Why We Walk

We exist to restore and maintain harmony in our communities by promoting safety, offering support, and responding early to situations with compassion and care. Through visibility, conflict resolution, and peaceful presence, we walk to protect and empower.

Our History

A Movement Born from Community Need

Bear Clan Patrol was first formed in 1992 in Winnipeg’s North End, returning in 2015 to answer the urgent call for community-led safety. Rooted in our traditional responsibility to protect one another, the patrol is a grassroots response to real needs—carried out in a non-threatening, non-violent, and deeply supportive way.

Our Way

Non-Violent. Non-Judgmental. Community-Led.

We follow a path rooted in respect, patience, and presence. Our approach centres on walking with—not ahead of—our community. We offer help without judgment, create space for healing, and respond with empathy to the real needs of the people we serve.
