His commitment to the organization is deeply rooted in family values; his wife and daughter have also volunteered with the organization, making their involvement a shared family contribution to strengthening the community.
As a member of the Board of Directors, Mario brings strategic insight, cultural awareness, and a grounded understanding of community needs. His leadership is shaped by years of direct experience on patrol and a commitment to ensuring that the Bear Clan Patrol Inc. remains responsive, accountable, and guided by the principles of respect, service, and collective responsibility.
Mario is also a middle years educator who is deeply committed to advancing Indigenous education and perspectives within schools. He advocates for learning environments that honour Indigenous knowledge, truth, and cultural integrity. His passion for land‑based learning reflects his belief that meaningful education must connect students to the land, to community, and to the histories that shape their identities.
As a passionate Indigenous ally, Mario actively supports the integration of authentic Indigenous knowledge and culturally grounded practices into both educational and community spaces. His work is informed by the teachings he has been fortunate to receive from Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers, who have shared with him guidance in ceremony, history, and traditional knowledge.
